RadioNPT Privacy Policy

Last updated: 06-01-2026

RadioNPT (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a community radio station serving Neath Port Talbot. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being open about how we collect and use personal data.

RadioNPT is operated as an unincorporated community group providing a community radio service for Neath Port Talbot. For the purposes of UK data protection law, RadioNPT is the data controller for personal data collected through its services. Our website is https://radionpt.com and privacy enquiries can be sent to privacy@radionpt.co.uk.

We collect personal information that you choose to provide to us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, messages sent through contact forms or to the studio, and information supplied when entering competitions, making requests, or taking part in giveaways. Where a competition involves a physical prize, we may also collect a postal address solely for delivery purposes.

When you visit our website, we may also collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and general website usage data. This information helps us ensure the website works correctly and understand how it is used.

We use personal data to respond to enquiries and listener messages, pass messages and requests to the on-air studio, run competitions and promotions, contact winners, arrange prize delivery where applicable, improve our services, maintain website security, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. We do not sell or trade personal data.

We process personal data under the lawful bases of consent, legitimate interests in operating a community radio station, and legal obligation where required by law.

Personal information may be shared internally with Radio NPT presenters, volunteers, or organisers where necessary, for example to read messages on air or administer competitions. We may also share information with trusted service providers involved in website hosting, email delivery, or radio streaming services, or where required by law or a regulatory authority. All parties handling data on our behalf are expected to keep it secure.

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary. Messages and enquiries are retained only for response and station record purposes. Competition data is kept until the competition has ended and prizes have been distributed. Postal details used for physical prizes are deleted once delivery is complete. Technical and usage data is retained for short periods or anonymised.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to ensure it functions correctly, support embedded services such as audio streaming, and understand general website usage. At present, radionpt.com does not use a cookie consent banner. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the website may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion of your data, object to or restrict certain types of processing, and withdraw consent at any time. These requests can be made by contacting privacy@radionpt.co.uk.

Radio NPT does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe we hold such data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be published on the website and the “last updated” date will be amended accordingly.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact Radio NPT at privacy@radionpt.co.uk.
